Background
In my first semester at Kunsthochschule Kassel, we were tasked with designing a product in the style of a well-known designer.
I chose Konstantin Grcic, who is a German designer known for his functional and minimalist approach.
Inspiration
He describes Pardo’s design philosophy as follows:

“Prado was inspired by a shelf that I’d built for my own office. It had the depth of a table, which inspired me to turn it into a desk. Even though it’s made from wood and is reminiscent of a traditional desk, it’s based on a very modern idea: it has only open surfaces and no closed storage space, which is less important in the computer age.”
I am deeply fascinated by the logic behind this design. In this product, he reinterprets certain conceptual terms, which then shape his design goals.Inspired by this approach, I also want to develop my own interpretation of the current era and use it as a foundation to design a product.

THE VERSION
I started thinking—based on Grcic’s design philosophy, what would his perspective on "time" be?
The conclusion I arrived at is this: he might say, "In the computer age, the concept of time has become even more important. How can we know the time anywhere and anytime?"
Perhaps the answer to this question is: "Carry time with you"

Scene Animation
"Montag" in German means Monday, and this name is a tribute to Konstantin Grcic’s work—Mayday (lamp).

I created a short animation to illustrate the usage scenario of the Montag clock on an ordinary Monday.
